Liquor sales up in NH
Retail sales at New Hampshire liquor and wine outlets are up nearly $10 million this year. According to the New Hampshire Liquor Commission, year-to-date sales have increased 9.4 percent over the previous fiscal year.
Over the first 10 weeks of fiscal year 2013, which began July 1, sales are $9.8 million higher than the first 10 weeks of FY 2012, the Liquor Commission reported. Spirits sales increased by 9.5 percent, and wine sales increased by 9.3 percent.
Seven state liquor and wine outlets have been relocated over the past two years, including stores in Portsmouth and North Hampton. Collectively, those seven locations experienced $7.9 million of growth in FY 2012.
Liquor Commission chair Joseph W. Mollica said the increased success is due to enhanced marketing efforts, as well as collaborations with local, regional, national and international business partners.
