Reggae fest in Rochester
In what is expected to become an annual event, The Governors’ Inn will host the first ever Rochester Reggae & Rhythm Craft Brew Fest on Saturday, July 14. The festival will bring five regional bands to the Inn’s back gardens.
The headliner is Dub Apocalypse, a Boston-based act featuring members of John Brown’s Body, G Love, Morphine, the Nate Wilson Group and others. The band’s ever-evolving lineup executes original dub reggae instrumentals with rampant improvisations, break beats and extended jams.
Joining Dub apocalypse will be Van Gordon Martin, Rythem Inc., The Equalites, and Hot Like Fire. In addition to the music, the event will feature artisan vendor booths, craft beer, barbecue, a full menu and drinks available for sale. Seating is limited, but guests can bring lawn chairs and blankets, or just stay on their feet and dance.
The gates open at noon and the music begins at 1 p.m. at 78 Wakefield St. in Rochester. Tickets are $10. For more information, call 603-332-0107 or visit www.governorsinn.com.
