Citizens for Voter Education is hosting a pair of candidates nights in Portsmouth in advance of the Nov. 6 general election. The events take place in the Council Chambers at Portsmouth City Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 24, and Thursday, Nov. 1.

The first forum has invited candidates for governor, state Senate and Executive Council. The second will include candidates for the state House of Representatives. Both events are sponsored by Portsmouth Public Library and begin at 7 p.m.

Cathy Hodson of Citizens for Voter Education will moderate the forums, and audience members will have a chance to ask questions. For those who cannot attend in person, the forums will be televised on Channel 22 and rebroadcast at later dates.

Also, Portsmouth Listens is hosting a candidates night on Monday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Portsmouth High School Library. The event will include round-table discussions with candidates for the House, Senate, and Executive Council.
