Gubernatorial candidate Maggie Hassan is launching an Ice Cream Social Tour that will bring her to Portsmouth on Sunday, Aug. 5. The month-long tour begins in Nashua on Aug. 4 and concludes in Berlin on Aug. 30.

Hassan, a Democrat from Exeter, is in a tight primary race with Jackie Cilley of Barrington. Both are former state senators. The tour begins a week after Hassan accepted a high-profile endorsement from former President Bill Clinton.

Hassan’s campaign says the tour will “continue her grassroots outreach to voters and ice cream lovers across New Hampshire.” The local stop takes place at the Discover Portsmouth Center, 10 Middle St., at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
